Black (Red) tea from big trees (Da Shu, 60 years+) in a high mountain tea garden near Bang Dong Village, Lincang County, Yunnan.
We discovered this small factory in Lincang, run by Master Wu, during our trip to Yunnan in the spring of 2026. Master Wu's factory and tea gardens are relatively small, but his approach to production and professionalism greatly impressed us.
Master Wu produces tea according to traditional recipes and techniques, but with state-of-the-art, custom-made machines scientific approach. Не controls the smallest details of tea leaf processing. And this affected the quality of the finished tea: Master Wu's tea is unlike other teas from this region; it is soft, aromatic, light, yet beautiful and deep.
This Black (Red) tea is made using old traditional, complex techniques, but with the help of modern equipment – a high-tech cabinet for leaf fermentation and an oven that bakes the tea using a stream of hot air from a live fire.
We purchased two teas from him — this Black tea and a Sheng Puerh made from the same raw materials. We recommend trying both and discovering how different and yet so similar they are.
Aroma: honey, dried fruits, burnt caramel.
Flavor: fruity-caramel, crust of black bread, soft and thick.
Impact: warming, relaxing, fills with energy.
Production: April 2026
Thanks to the high quality of raw materials and delicate processing technology, over time the tea will only gain in flavor and aroma.
