Gong Ting Grade Shu Puerh in Tangerine or Xiao Qing Gan (小青柑).
The pulp is removed from small, unripe tangerines of a specific variety, and the fruit is then filled with Pu-erh tea. Afterward, they are dried in the sun or in a special drying oven.
Next, it undergoes a period of aging lasting several years, allowing the excessive acidity to settle down, while the flavor becomes mellow and sweet. Meanwhile, the tea inside absorbs the essential oils, achieving a balanced profile.
Each tangerine is 12-14g.
Production: 2021 (puerh tea inside), 2023 - tangerine peel and production.
It is recommended to brew the tea by slowly pouring a stream of boiling water through the hole on top of the mandarin. In this way, you can pour up to 2 liters of water through it, yielding a generous amount of delicious, invigorating Pu-erh tea!
Alternatively, you can break apart the mandarin and brew it in a more traditional manner—like loose-leaf tea mixed with pieces of mandarin peel (though, in this case, the tea will have a bolder, sharper flavor).
