Tai Ping Hou Kui, spring 2025

Tai Ping Hou Kui (太平猴魁) is an original green tea with an unusual shape, meaning "Monkey Leader from Tai Ping." This hand-crafted tea is made by laying out the leaves on a special mesh and pressing them, resulting in its distinctive form.

Aroma: sweet with a characteristic orchid note.

Taste: rich, thick, broth-like, yet soft and smooth without astringency. It has a pleasant sweet aftertaste.

Effect: refreshing and invigorating.

Production: spring 2025, Anhui Province, China.

Brewing: Do not break the leaves! If they don’t fit in your teapot, simply pour hot water over them. They will soften and fit perfectly. We recommend brewing in a tall glass or a porcelain gaiwan. Cool the water to 70–85°C.
